Johnson named to Legal Elite in Construction every year since 2020
Townes B. Johnson III has been named to Greenville Business Magazine’s Legal Elite in Construction for the Upstate Region in every edition since 2020, including the 2026 list published in August.
Legal Elite is a peer-voted listing. Since 2012 the magazine and its sister publications — Columbia Business Monthly, Charleston Business Magazine, B2B: The Grand Strand and B2B: Pee Dee Business — have asked South Carolina attorneys to name the lawyers they would trust with a matter in each practice area and region. Lawyers cannot vote for themselves. There is no application and no submission; you are either named by other lawyers or you are not.
That is the part worth saying plainly. Construction is a small bar in the Upstate, and the lawyers voting are the ones sitting across the table in mediations, taking the depositions, and arguing the motions. A listing built from their ballots is a reasonable proxy for how a lawyer actually practices.
