Townes B. Johnson III
Seeking creative, cost-effective solutions.

Bio
Townes was born and raised in Greenville. After Greenville High, he studied business at Furman University, then spent two years with a Greenville-based residential builder constructing both custom and tract homes — where he developed a lasting passion for the construction process. That passion led him to Samford University, where he studied law and business, and from there to a clerkship with South Carolina Circuit Court Judge Edward W. Miller and two Greenville firms, where he became a partner at both.
Townes concentrates his practice on Construction Law, Business Law, Commercial and Civil Litigation, Collection Law, and Creditor’s Rights in Bankruptcy, and is committed to seeking creative, cost-effective solutions for his clients.
He is a member of the South Carolina Bar and its Construction Law Section, the South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association, the American Bar Association and its Construction Law Section, and the Greenville County Bar Association.
Outside the office, Townes spends his time with his wife, Marshall, their children, Mary Randolph and Townes, their extended family, and their dogs, Pearlie and Ruby. He enjoys a good conversation — sports, economics, politics, or religion; bird hunting, fly fishing, and fresh- and saltwater fishing; camping, hiking, and traveling; golf, cards, and puzzles; gardening; attending sporting events; and coaching church league basketball. He also helps Marshall with Greenville’s Gift, the charitable organization she founded to provide clothing for newborns in need.
