Lesson 1 - Marriage on Mission (Purpose/Humility)

  • Key Idea #1: Marriage is more than companionship; it’s a mission to reflect God’s image, complete one another, and leave a legacy.

  • Key Idea #2: Jesus' model of humility through service is how we should approach marriage.

  • Scripture: Genesis 1:27–28; 2:18-24, 1 Corinthians 7:2-5,  Ephesians 5:22–33 and Philippians 2:3–4.

Lesson 2 - Building a Communication Toolbox

  • Key Idea #1: The goal of communication is mutual understanding; not winning the argument.

  • Key Idea #2: Be quick to hear, slow to speak/anger (James 1:19).

  • Scripture: James 1:19; 3:5-6, Proverbs 12:19;18:21, Matthew 6:9-15, and Ephesians 4:15, 25, 29; 5:4 and 19

Lesson 3 - Fighting Fair (Conflict Resolution)

  • Key Idea #1: The source of conflict is unmet desires.

  • Key Idea #2: Conflict is inevitable; destruction is optional. 

  • Scripture: James 4:1–2; Matthew 7:3–5; 1 John 1:8; Proverbs 19:11; Romans 15:5-6; Proverbs 15:1-2; 1 Peter 3:8–9; Colossians 3:13; and Romans 5:1

Lesson 4 - Forgive as Christ Forgave

  • Key Idea #1: We are commanded to grant forgiveness.

  • Key Idea #2: Without forgiveness, a relationship cannot be restored. 

  • Scripture: Colossians 3:13; Ephesians 4:32; 1 John 1:9; Psalm 139:23–24; and Romans 15:5–6

Lesson 5 - God's Plan for Lasting Oneness

  • Key Idea #1: A cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecc. 4:12).

  • Key Idea #2: Oneness is built through commitment, humility, and Christ at the center.  

  • Scripture: Genesis 2:24; Ecclesiastes 4:12; Ephesians 5:28; Romans 5:10; Deuteronomy 31:6; 1 Thessalonians 5:14
